Angkor Vol. 3 and Dancing in the Street

On the third day, I head to Angkor again by bicycle, but this time together with Luis from Chile, whom I met at the hostel. He has been traveling around the world for a longer period and is planning to make a brief stop in Estonia in about six months.

In the evening, I spend time on the local party street, where, thanks to the warm weather, people also gather outside between the bars and nightclubs. The music on the street is loud enough to create a lively atmosphere, yet still reasonable enough to hold a conversation. A local attraction is a young girl selling souvenirs who dances in such a way that the entire street cheers her on — and occasionally buys souvenirs from her. I buy a bracelet from her as a keepsake.

At times, people start dancing right there in the street, and of course I can’t stay out of it either. The most memorable moment comes when the whole street full of people dances the “Macarena” together, performing the same well-known moves in unison.
